Freddie Stanley

Freddie Wilburn Stanley, 71, of Vermilion, died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born August 31, 1950 in North Springs, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 49 years moving from Cub Creek (North Springs), WV. Fred was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for Tenneco Inc, Milan as a parts trimmer, retiring after 28 years. Fred enjoyed fishing, reading Louis L'Amour books, watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians, and spending time in the outdoors, especially sitting by the river. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Tristan (Melissa) Stanley of Vermilion; grandchildren, Heavynn, Logan, Ryan, Grace, and Charlotte; sister, Virginia Hamm of Vermilion, brothers, Keith Stanley of Vermilion and Scott (Jane) Stanley of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Zelma (nee Riffe) Stanley; infant son, Alexander; brothers, Carlie, Dana, and Ronald; and his sister, Janet Porter. Private services will be held.
