Gail L Rieth, age 67, of Vermilion, died Friday, December 23, 2005 at the Inn at Chappel Creek in Vermilion, Ohio. She was born in Rochester, New York on August 13, 1938 and had lived in Vermilion for the past 15 years, moving from Hinkley, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She worked as a high school teacher for the Medina County School District, teaching French, Spanish and English. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Vermilion and formerly at the Richfield United Church of Christ in Richfield, Ohio. She was an avid sailor and belonged to the Vermilion Boat Club and Sandusky Yacht Club. Survivors include her husband of nearly 48 years, Harvey L. Rieth, sons Douglas of Milford, MI, William of Cincinnati, OH, and Gregory of North Ridgeville, OH; and a daughter Cheryl Horning of Mason, OH; 11grandchildren, and a brother William Gilmore of Treasure Island, FL. Preceding her in death were her parents, George O. and Evelyn (nee Hawes) Gilmore and brother, Mark Gilmore. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 7:00 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church, Coen and West Lake Roads, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Joan E. Skelley-Watts, pastor, will officiate. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest OH Chapter, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615-2820.
