Gary Arthur Dropko

Gary Arthur Dropko, 73, of Vermilion, died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Amherst Manor Retirement Community after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 24, 1949 in Lorain, OH and moved back to Vermilion in 2004 previously living in Pennsylvania, New York, and Utah.

Gary graduated from Vermilion High School in 1967 and was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam era.

Gary worked in Building Operations. His career started at West Point where he held various positions with in the Special Services Divison.  He then worked for the University of Pennsylvania, The Spectrum Arena, Madison Square Garden and Salt Palace Convention Center.

He enjoyed golfing, tennis, and watching sports, especially Cleveland teams.

He is survived by his brother, Daniel Glenn Dropko of Vermilion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Constance (nee Strandwitz) Dropko.

Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
