Gary Lee Hogue, 69, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his home, after a year long illness with lung cancer. He was born October 6, 1952 in Salem, MO and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 57 years moving from Steelville, MO. Gary worked for Bettcher Industries as a Quality Inspector retiring in 2018. He had also worked for Harrison Manufacturing in Birmingham, and Wonder Color in Vermilion. Gary enjoyed driving and traveled to 49 out of 50 states. He enjoyed visiting the National Parks, car shows, caring for his cars, baseball, collecting guns, mowing, and working around his home. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kelly (nee Zander) Hogue of Vermilion; daughter, Rachel (Brian) Beckwith of Vermilion; grandchildren, Anna and Maggie Beckwith; and sisters, Ruth Ann Eaker of Geneseo, IL, and Linda Buckingham of Monroeville; and sister in law, Arlene Hogue of St. Charles, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Frances (nee Sullivan) Hogue; brothers, Harold Gene Hogue, William Monroe Hogue and Wayne Hogue; brother in laws, Thomas Buckingham and Gerald Eaker; and sister in law, Nadene Hogue. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Family will receive friends again on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 9 am until the service at 10 am at Riddle Funeral Home. The Reverend Heidi Strickler will officiate.
