Gary M Rhoades

Gary M Rhoades, 62, of Vermilion, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. He was born July 15, 1953 in Lorain and had been a life long Vermilion resident. Gary started his career with American Ship Builders. He then worked as a painter for various painting companies before starting his own, G&B Painting. Gary enjoyed fishing, fast cars, watching the Cleveland Browns, watching old western movies, and listening to music, especially the Beatles. He looked forward to his nieces baking and cooking and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jeanne (nee Levy) Rhoades; son, Gary (Morgan) Rhoades of Vermilion; daughter, Leslie (Jason) Buchanan of Vermilion; step-daughters, Stephanie (Christopher) Estridge and Caitlin Pauley both of Cincinnati; 6 grandchildren; sisters, Janet Knittle of Vermilion, Diane Reer of Norwalk, Joan Calamia of Vermilion, and Marilyn Lunn-Oliver of Vermilion; brother, Charles Keller of Wickliff; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence "Dusty" and Marie (nee Wolcott) Rhoades; brothers, Thomas and Robert Keller, and John Rhoades.
