Gavin McLaughlin

Gavin Blair McLaughlin, 18, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026.

He was born March 19, 2008, in Elyria, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 10 years.

Gavin was a 2026 graduate of the EHOVE Career Center Diesel Technology program. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a passion for motorcycles. He loved the freedom of riding and the time spent out on the open road. Gavin was a happy-go-lucky person who didn’t take life too seriously. He had a great sense of humor and loved making others laugh. Most of all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and the memories they made together.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa (Brian Kershaw) McLaughlin; father, Eric McLaughlin; sisters, Savannah and Isabella McLaughlin; half-sister, Alyssa; nephews and niece, Owen, Wyatt, Waylon, and Willow; maternal grandparents, Sherry (Terry) Stone; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Donna McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
