Genneda Kay Hicks

Genneda Kay Hicks (nee Goodman), 69, of Wakeman, died Friday, December 12, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 19, 1939 in Oneida, TN, and has lived in Birmingham since 1959 . She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Birmingham and a member of Eastern Star in Tennessee. She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, and talking to her family and friends. Survivors include husband of 49 years, Vaughn Hicks; sons, Steve (Laurel) Hicks of Knotts Island, NC and Mark (Sonja) Hicks of South Amherst; daughter, Kathy (Joey) Collier of Birmingham; grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Jeremy and Tori; great grandson, Logan; sister, Betty Hudson, Cincinnati and her brothers, Larry Goodman and Lynn Goodman, both of Oneida, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Gertrude (nee Harding) Goodman, her sisters, Joanne Sexton; twin sister, Gereda Fay Goodman and brothers, Earl Goodman, Paul David Goodman and Ken Goodman. Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 from noon until the time of a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Elder Richard A.
