George F. Allgauer, 54, of Vermilion, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
He was born on June 21, 1971, and had been a Vermilion resident for most of his life.
George enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and took great pride in gardening and working on home renovation projects. He loved building and fixing things with his hands. Known as a true social butterfly, George genuinely enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan (nee Homes) Allgauer; his son, Chase (Alison) Allgauer; his daughters, MacKenzie and Matty Allgauer; and his grandchildren, Hazel Marie, Jack Floyd, and Willow Sue. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Carol) Allgauer, Shawn (Sande) Allgauer, and Scott (Marlene Yakanovich) Allgauer of Wakeman.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sara G. (nee O’Bryon) Allgauer, and his sisters, Sally Ann Allgauer, Amy Reineck, and Kathy Roby.
Honoring George’s wishes, no public services will be held.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Central Office, 2045 Morse Road, Building G-1, Columbus, OH 43229-6693.
