George E. Fletcher, 97, of Vermilion, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. George was born December 16, 1913 in Fryburg, PA; he had been a Vermilion resident for the past 41 years moving from Elyria. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. George worked as an assembler for Ford Motor Co., Lorain retiring in 1977. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth (nee Long); step-son, William Renick of Butler, PA and a niece, Doris Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Mary (nee Dietz) Fletcher; step-son George Renick in 2002; and 5 sisters. Private Services will be held.
