Gerald F. Jasinski, Sr., 83, of Vermilion, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 25, 1942, in Lorain, OH, and had made Vermilion his home for the past 36 years after moving from Lorain.
Gerald attended Lorain High School and Brookside High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and spent his career working as an electrician at U.S.S. Kobe Steel Co. in Lorain.
He was a longtime member of St. Mary Parish in Vermilion. Gerald enjoyed a wide range of activities, including playing horseshoes, golfing, fishing, softball, and camping. He was also an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians/Guardians.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean Carroll Jasinski (nee Meier); his children, Gerald Jasinski, Jr., James Jasinski, Richelle (Jeff) Bainbridge, Carolyn (John) Holman, and Patricia (Brian) Leslie; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph and Thirza J. (nee Foisy) Jasinski, and his brother, Don W. Jasinski.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 12 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. Interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, where military honors will be presented.
