Jerry Simmerman

Gerald  "Jerry"  Simmerman, 82, of Dover and formerly of Norwalk, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Park Village Health Care Center, Dover after a brief illness.

He was born August 20, 1940 in Alliance, OH and had been a Dover resident for the past 6 years moving from Canal Fulton.

He retired from St. Mary of the Springs, where he worked for over 20 years.

He enjoyed watching sports, joking around, collecting nutcrackers, dogs and being with his family.

He is survived by his nephews, David (Monica) Fondriest of Norwalk and Christopher Ravine of Dover, nieces, Faith (Scott) Green of Canal Fulton, Jan (Howie) Mann, and Angie Ravine of AZ; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy (nee Rank) Simmerman, and siblings, Annalee and Ervin Fondriest,  Isabelle Ravine, and Larry Simmerman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 9 a.m until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Parish,  1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton, OH 44203. Private inurnment will be held at Gnadenhutten - Clay Union Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to a Humane Society of your choosing. The family would like to thank Park Village for their loving care and friendship.
