Geraldine R Cummings

Geraldine R. Cummings (nee Exton), 94, of Sheffield Lake, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Geraldine was born September 15, 1918 in Lorain. She lived in Vermilion for 30 years before moving to Sheffield Lake. Geraldine graduated from Lorain High School and worked for Smith and Gerharts in Lorain as a clerk. She was a member of St.John's United Church of Christ, Lorain. Geraldine was a loving person, and was the heart of her family which she enjoyed so much. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Dennis) George of Vermilion, and Nancy Faulkner of Lorain; grandchildren, Michelle Barnes, James, Kathryn, Jodi Reed, Kelly Baker, Kyle, Shannon and Sean; great grandchildren, Morgan, Mackenzi, Lauren, Myles, Ashley, Adam and Allison and daughters in law, Frances Cummings of Vermilion and Lynn Cummings of Rockcreek, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian (nee Wilker) Exton; husband, James B. Cummings, 1999; sons, James R. Cummings, 2011 and Brent A. Cummings, 2005 and granddaughter Cherie Szucs, 2002. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Father Philip Feltman will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
