Geraldine Matuszak

Geraldine "Gerry" Matuszak (nee Kurowski), age 71, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion after a brief illness. Born on April 4, 1932 in Lorain, she was a lifetime resident, graduating from Lorain High School in 1950 Class B. She was a lifetime member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where she was a faithful member of the Alter & Rosary Society. She was a homemaker devoting her life to her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as to her church. She is survived by her children, Linda Rennals of Findlay, Jane Hobart of Amherst and Ken Matuszak of Avon; 6 grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bremer of Largo, Florida; brother, Frank Kurowski of Lorain. She was preceded-in-death by her husband Leland Matuszak, who died on January 5, 1990 and her parents, Frank and Esther (nee Falkowski) Kurowski. The family will recieve friends on Friday, July 11, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. The Alter & Rosary Society will conduct a rosary service at 3:00 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N.
