Geraldine Toth

Geraldine "Gerry" Mae Toth (nee Eppley), aged 93, a lifelong resident of Lorain, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at her home after an extended  illness.

Born on March 13, 1930, in Lorain, OH, Gerry graduated from Lorain High School. Her career began at the Lorain Creamery before her marriage with Joseph Toth in 1951. Gerry dedicated numerous years to the Meister Road Elementary School cafeteria and later to Aramark, retiring in 2005.

Early in her life she was an active member  of the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lorain, where she had contributed by singing in the choir and playing the piano for Sunday School. She derived joy from outdoor pursuits, including hiking, walking the beach to collect sea shells, boating, and traveling. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking special dinners for family and friends.  Additionally, she loved working with flowers and turned her backyard into a beautiful  garden oasis. Music played a significant role in Gerry's life. She had fond memories of  playing trombone in the high school marching band and was a strong supporter of her children's musical pursuits. She found immense happiness in the time she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her loving, vibrant spirit and unwavering willingness to assist others.

Gerry is survived by her daughter, Barbara Staszak of Vermilion, OH, son, Robert Toth of Ottawa, Canada; grandchildren, Melanie (Richard) Timko and Joseph (Nicole) Staszak; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Allison, Alexander, and Gabriella.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Toth in 2020, and her parents, Charles and Mildred (nee Horn) Eppley. Gerry is also preceded by her son-in-law, Frank Staszak, and her sisters, Margaret Ellison, Shirley Miller, and Miriam Schnittker.

Private family services will be held with inurnment at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
