Glenn Nida

Glenn C. Nida, 76, of Trinity, FL died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care at Heather Hill, New Port Richie, FL after a short illness. He was born April 23, 1941 in Walton, WV and had been a Trinity, FL resident for the past 2 years, moving from Birmingham where he had resided for 32 years. Glenn worked in Security for Ford Motor Co. for 32 years, retiring in 2005. He also worked for the Lorain County Sheriff's Dept. and the Amherst Police Dept. where he served for 24 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and had attended St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, New Port Richie, FL. Glenn was also a member of the Eagles and Elks both in New Port Richie, FL, and the Moose, Tarpon Springs, FL, National F.O.P, and the Amherst F.O. P. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann (nee Cimbalista) Nida of Trinity, FL; sons, James (Connie) Nida of Louisville, KY and Ryan (Jen) Nida of Amherst; daughters, Chris Nida of Avon and Monica (Robert) Kinder of Charleston, WV; daughters, Pamela and Vicky of WV; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Kiser of Kissimmee, FL and Pauline Higgenbothom of WV; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Lora (nee Jett) Nida; brothers, Leslie, Harold, and Ross Nida; and his sister, Eupha Hoff. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion, OH. Father Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst, OH. Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
