Glenn F. Risdon

Glenn F. Risdon, 94, of Vermilion, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Kingston of Vermilion after a short illness. He was born December 4, 1913 in Vermilion where he has been a lifelong resident. He worked as a custodian for Vermilion Schools from 1946 until his retirement in 1978. Glenn was a member of the Vermilion Grange #2171, Pomona 5th degree Grange, and Ohio Public School Employees Union. He enjoyed woodworking, carving, reading, steam engine shows, square dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters; Jean (Richard) Bauer of Sandusky, Lucille Blake of Vermilion, Alice (William) Stuckey of Milan; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ralph H. and Ruth (nee: Kuhl) Risdon; his first wife, Pearl (nee Klucas) Risdon in 1953 and second wife Edna (nee Delfing) Risdon in 2003; 2 sons James Michael and Thomas Wayne in infancy; his sister Mary Montgomery in 1951, brother Clyde Risdon in 1997; granddaughter, Sherry Bauer in 1990 and son-in-law, James Blake in 2003. Friends may call Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Cliff Morris, pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church, and Charles Blake, Mr. Risdon's grandson, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
