Glenna Faye Wellman (Stollings), 78, of Vermilion, went to be with her Lord and savoir on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Elmwood Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing of Fremont after a lengthy illness.
She was born December 6, 1946 in Chapmanville, WV. She married her high school sweetheart Jimmie Wellman after graduation. They moved to Vermilion, Ohio to raise a family, where they still reside.
Glenna worshiped the lord at Evergreen Baptist church in Amherst, Ohio.
Glenna was blessed to stay home and raise her children. Glenna was a Sunday school teacher for over 20 years, girl scout leader, den leader, and homeroom mother. She worked at JC Penney's catalog center during Christmas for years for extra presents under the tree. Glenna also worked at Rax restaurant as prep cook for 4 years. Glenna sold Mary Kay, then she opened a ceramic Shoppe in the garage of their home where she spent countless hours teaching how to paint. Glenna has always loved crafts and people, this gave her the best of both worlds.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmie Wellman, Sr. of Vermilion, daughters, Teresa (Mike) Gardner of Bellevue, and Sandy Eskins of Berlin Heights,; son, Jimmie (Danielle) Wellman, Jr. of Collins, grandsons, Daniel (Brianna) Eskins of Perkins Twp, Tyler (Jasna) Eskins of Pacific, WA, Zachary (Amber) Gardner of Bellevue, Jacob Wellman of Lorain, and Jimmie III (Amanda) Wellman of Sandusky; granddaughters, Jen (Kyle) Davis of Bellevue, Kara (Austin) Sharp of Milan, Jessica (Luis) Wellman of Sheffield, and Megan (George) Cain of Bellevue; sisters, Darlene (Jim) McPeek of Medina and Connie Strunk of Champmanville, WV; 14 great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jamie Alivia Wellman, her parents, Sally and James Stolling, her step mother, Madge (Goldie) Stollings; brothers, James, Freddie, Clyde and Carl Stollings, and sisters, Birdie Vance, Louise Workman, and Geraldine Strunk.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 1 to 4 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10am at Riddle Funeral Home, The Reverend Randy Crabtree will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Elmwood Alzheimer's unit and Heartland hospice. They were loving and caring with our entire family throughout the process.
