Gloria Mcglamery

Gloria Jean McGlamery (nee Delamater), 78, passed away peacefully on December 27,2020 at the Arden Courts Memory Care Community in Westlake, Ohio. Gloria was born August 8, 1942 in New London, Ohio. She graduated from New London High School in 1960 and from the Oberlin School of Commerce in 1961. She then studied at Bowling Green State University where she graduated in 1969. Gloria worked in the office of the Roth Corporation in New London, Ohio from 1961 to 1967.  In 1969 she started working as a Kindergarten and Music teacher in Bettsville and Lorain Schools until 1975.  Gloria ended her career in the offices of Kendal of Oberlin where she worked from 1993 until her retirement in 2000. Gloria loved music and was active in numerous local musical groups. She played the organ in several area churches and gave individual piano lessons for many years. Gloria was also active in the Wellington Band Booster and 4-H club activities. She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Heather (Matt) Kralik and Heidi McGlamery; son, James W. (Andrea) McGlamery II; grandchildren, William, Emily, and Molly Kralik, James, and Maxwell McGlamery; and her sister,  Patricia Ritchey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gardner and Frances Delamater and her sisters, Shirley Cawrse and Kathy Walter. A private burial will be at the Grove Street Cemetery, New London, on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Reverend Allison LeBrun will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH.
