Graham Bateman

Graham John Dudley Bateman, 69, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born August 1, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, Graham spent most of his life in Vermilion.

He worked as a Quality Inspector for a number of companies throughout his career, including Benchmark National Corporation in Elyria, and was known for his attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Graham had a love for hockey, both as a fan and a player, having spent ten years skating with a Michigan-based team. In quieter moments, he enjoyed reading and could often be found in the company of his beloved yellow Labrador, Cheri.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Irma Chevalier of Vermilion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter B. Bateman and Betty D. Bateman (née Parkyn).
