Gwendolyn 'Pat' Stowers

Gwendolyn "Pat" Stowers (nee Combs), 73, of Vermilion, died Friday, April 24, 2020 at MetroHealth Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born December 7, 1946 in Nicholasville, KY and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 65 years moving from Kentucky. Pat had worked at the Family Dollar and the Goodwill store in Vermilion. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion where she had taught Sunday School. Pat enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Stowers of Vermilion, sons, Charles W. (Rosemary) Stowers of Vermilion, Darren (Becky) Stowers of Oberlin, and Darrell (Danielle Lyons) Stowers of Vermilion; daughters, Cynthia (Curt) Casper of Vermilion and Brenda (John) Wheeler of Columbus; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents John M. and Geneva (nee Steele) Combs; brothers, Kenneth "Ken" Ray Combs and John M Combs, Jr.; sisters, Mary "Ronnie" Perkins and Jean Legg; and her granddaughter, Kiara. Private visitation will take place and a graveside service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Reverend Cliff Morris will officiate.
