Harold Charles Hoelzle

November 15, 1925 — August 29, 2018

Harold Charles Hoelzle, 92, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born November 15, 1925 in Flint, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 39 years moving from Flint. Harold was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He had worked as the personnel director at the Fisher Body Division of General Motors plant in Elyria and formerly was the administrator of personnel services at the Flint, MI assembly plant. He joined Fisher Body in 1950 after graduating from the University of Michigan. Harold was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion. He had also been a member of the Masons and had served as President of the Old News Boys in Flint, MI. He enjoyed wintering in University Park,FL. He loved following the stock market, duck hunting, fishing, traveling the world with his wife, growing Bromeliad Plants, vegetable gardening, and Bea. He especially enjoyed passing out the tomatoes he grew to family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beatrice M. (nee Carroll) Hoelzle; daughters, Wendy (Rick) Whitson of Swartz Creek, MI, Nancy (Ray) Sinclair of Flint, MI, Ellen (Kelly) Brisbin of Flint, MI, and Katie (William) Griffin of Grand Blanc, MI; step daughter, Suzanne Sedge of Stuart, FL; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick G. and Inger Elaine (nee Rice) Hoelzle; brothers, Harry "Bud" Hoelzle and William G. Hoelzle; and his sisters, Elaine Cheney and Eloise Nickels. Friends may call Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Reverend Allison LeBrun will officiate. Inurnment at a later date in Great Lake National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
