Harold W. Huey

Harold W. Huey, 65, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was born August 9, 1950 in Starford, PA, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 55 years moving from PA. Harold was a veteran of the US Army serving during Vietnam. He worked as a lift driver for Ford Motor Co. in Lorain and Avon retiring after 36 years. After retirement, he worked part-time at Drug Mart in Vermilion. He was a member of AMVETS Post #22 and the UAW #425. Harold enjoyed yard work, fishing, taking country rides in his truck, and sitting outside socializing with his neighbors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters who affectionately referred to him as PePaw. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda (nee Collins) Huey; daughter, Kerri Owsiak of Vermilion; son-in-law, Bob Owsiak of Vermilion; granddaughters, Lux and Monroe; and sisters, Beverly (Fred) Smith of Vermilion, Emily Hembree of Vermilion, and Donna Park of Delta, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna (nee Gregg) Huey. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
