Harry J. Pishura

Harry J. Pishura, 85, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born August 27, 1924 in South Euclid, Ohio he had been a Vermilion resident for the past 25 years moving from Madison. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a pilot of B24 bombers during WWII. He was a partner in Nick Mayer Lincoln Mercury Automobile Dealership in Westlake over 25 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion. He had his private pilot's license and enjoyed remote control airplanes and model trains. He loved fishing, boating and living on the lake. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, JoAnne (nee Bender) of Vermilion; 2 daughters, Donna (Greg) Wey, St. Petersburg, FL, Linda (Lewis) Buckles, Burton; son, Harry (Dawn) Pishcura Jr., Geneva; 4 step daughters, Cynthia Aring, Martha's Vineyard, MA, Dana (Bob) Scott, St. Louis MO, Missy (David ) Doggett, Avon Lake and Leslie (Michael) Dover, Vermilion; half brother, Jack (Monica) Pishcura; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Wagner, a grandson, Joshua Pishcura and a sister, Betty Holland and his parents, John and Wilma (nee Koenig) Pishura. Friends may call Friday, August 27, 2010 from 5 p.m. until the time of a service at 7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. The Reverend Terry Parker will officiate.
