Vermilion - Hazel Mae Hauff (nee Policy) died Saturday, August 1, 2009. It doesn't matter why or how. What matters is that she lived. Born on August 25, 1936 in Cleveland, she was a woman of strength and courage. A woman who was loving and kindhearted. Wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest legacy is the family left to cherish the memories of a life lived well, yet way too short. She touched many hearts and brought joy and laughter to many people. She will be missed dearly. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Eldon and Dorothy Policy, son, Tom, granddaughter, Vada and sister, Patricia Fichtel. She is survived by her husband, Dick, son, Jeff (Rebecca) and granddaughter, Danielle. She will be especially missed by daughters, Cindy (Keith) and Susan. As well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank Dr. Livinia Cozmin, the staff at Community Health Partners ICU-2, New Life Hospice and Griswold Care Givers for their care and support. Friends may call on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
