Helen Louise Adams (nee Magnusson), 97, of Vermilion, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. Helen was born December 23, 1918 in Dubois, PA, She had been a Vermilion resident since 1946. Helen was a teacher at Lucy Idol Center for the Handicapped, Vermilion and Betty Rinderle Early Childhood Center, Sandusky. She had attended the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, was a member of the Vermilion Women's League, the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bridge and bowling until she was 96. She is survived by her son, David (Linda) Adams of Vermilion; grandchildren, David L. Adams, Jr., Christopher L. Adams, and Rebecca Petroske; step grandson, Christopher; great grandchildren, David, Shane, Skylar, Peyton and Riley and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorraine "BZ" in 1993; her parents, Carl and Grace (nee Logan) Magnusson; sons, Richard Lorraine, Randolf, Robert Charles Magnusson; brothers, Carl, Robert, and Charles and sisters, Jean Stewart and Grace Johnson. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Nick Cacciatore will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lucy Idol Center, P.O. Box 162, Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
