Helen Fiedler

Helen Fiedler (nee DeWalt), 84, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Kingston of Vermilion.

Born February 19, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Helen moved to Vermilion over 50years ago, where she built a wonderful life filled with family, friendship, and community. Throughout her career, Helen held administrative and hospitality positions with several local organizations, including Elden Properties, the Vermilion Police Department, and Kingston of Vermilion. She also worked alongside her husband at their family business, the Liberty Theater. What began as professional relationships often blossomed into lifelong friendships, reflecting her warm and caring personality.

She was a longtime member of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Above all, Helen treasured time with her family and friends. Her happiest moments were spent reading and enjoying the company of her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

Helen is survived by her son, David (Marion) Fiedler; grandchildren, Jonathan “Jay” (Amy) Fiedler, Nicholas (Deanna) Fiedler, Jacklyn Fiedler, David Fiedler Jr.; daughter-in- law, Lisa Fiedler, and son-in-law, Mike Sykes. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Roy William Fiedler Jr.; her son, Roy William Fiedler III; her parents, David and Mary DeWalt, and her sister-in-law, Martha, "Sudy" Duli.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Kingston of Vermilion for the special care they provided for Helen and Roy.
