Helen F. Mancini, 85 of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2007 at her home. She was born September 28, 1921 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident. She was a devoted homemaker and member of St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her son, Nick Mancini, Jr. of Vermilion; daughters, Connie Sherck and Joyce Drozdowski, both of Amherst; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her husband of over 30 years, Nicholas Mancini, grandson, Danny Mancini, parents, Peter and Frances (nee Dudzik) Zelek, sisters, Mary Rybarczyk and Catherine Berens and brothers, Joe Zelek, Mike Zelek, Pete Zelek, Stan Zelek, John Zelek and Walter Zelek. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain. The Reverend Edmund Goldbach, O.F.M. Conv., will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions may be made to the St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain, OH 44052.
