Helen E. Minnich

Helen E. Minnich (nee Hildebrand), 90 of Lorain, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Community Health Partners West after a short illness. She was born April 12, 1917 in Painesville, OH and has been a life long Lorain resident. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain. She enjoyed quilting, braiding rugs, baking, bingo, music and sports. She taught quilting and braiding rugs at LCCC. Survivors include 4 daughters: Carolyn Breines of Sheffield Lake; Jeannene Shawver of Lorain; Ruth Zocchi of Lorain; and Mary "Minnie" Sanchez of Lorain; 6 sons, Charles "Chaz" Minnich of Avon Lake; Bruce Minnich of Canton; Daniel Minnich of Avon Lake; Michael Minnich of Lorain; Mark Minnich of Vermilion and Paul Minnich of Red Bluff, CA; 31 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Charles R. Minnich Sr. in 1997, parents, Frederick and Nina Faye (nee Rockafeller) Hildebrand, son, David Minnich; and 3 sisters: Nina Hildebrand, Emma Lepa, and Eleanor Davies. Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1305 E. Erie Ave. Lorain, OH 44052 with Reverend Joseph West, O.F.M., Conv. Officiating. Private interment will take place in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1305 E. Erie Ave. Lorain, OH 44052.
