Helen Reshetar, 91, of Lorain, Ohio, died on Friday, July 18, 2008 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana following a brief illness. She was born on June 25, 1917 in Willard (Chicago Junction), Ohio, graduating from Willard High School in 1935 and moving to Lorain in 1940. Helen was a homemaker and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lorain. She was also a member of the Amherst Eagles #1442, Stone City Chapter #325 O.E. in south Amherst and the Senior Citizens Association of Lorain County. Helen moved to Newburgh in 2003 and lived next door to her son Denis and his wife Sandy. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Newburgh and was active in the Newburgh Senior Center. She is survived by a son Denis (wife Sandy); grandson Ryan (wife Amanda): 2 great grandsons (Miles and Reid); granddaughter Amber; brothers, George Yacob of Willard and Tom Sherban of Mansfield. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2001, Marshall, a daughter Judith, parents Joseph and Eva (nee Flucsa) Yacob, sisters Mary Forecker and Victoria Loney, and brothers John and Joe Yacob. The family will receive friends Monday July 21 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberline Avenue, Lorain, where a funeral service will be held at at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Pastor Greg Sellers will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fitchville Cemetery, Fitchville, Ohio.
