Helen "Shirley" Schrenkel (nee Glover), 89, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain surrounded by her family. Shirley was born Jan. 18, 1927 in Lorain and had lived in Vermilion before returning to the Lorain area. Shirley graduated from Vermilion High School. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time with family and friends, and cooking. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Farsetti, Shelley Engelhardt (Richard), and Sharon Flores (Pete); sons, James Schrenkel (Erica), and Wally Schrenkel Jr., grandchildren, Kimberly, Richard, John, Burke, Deanna, Jessica, James, Melissa, and Jason; great-grandchildren, Burke II, Caitlin, Kaley, Emma Lee, Christian, Brandon, Jadon, Nathan, Jasmine, Gabriel, and Giovanni; and a brother, Walter Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Schrenkel in 2005; her parents, George and Helen Glover; sister, Dolores; granddaughter, Kelly Farsetti, and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Flores. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Craig Hovanec will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
