Helen L. Schweinberg

Helen L. Schweinberg (nee Carroll), 75 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at her daughter's home, after a lengthy illness. She was born October 9, 1933 in Hendricks, West Virginia. She had been a Vermilion resident since 1963 moving to Lorain in 1992. She worked as an attendant at the Vermilion Coin Laundry for 16 years, starting in 1990. She had also worked at the Amherst Hospital in the dietary department and Margie�s Restaurant, Vermilion. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wellington. She was also a member of AARP and a former member of the Wellington Help Board. She enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Lorna (Thomas) Braden Horning of Vermilion; son, Harley Bert Aley, Jr. of Vermilion; step daughters, Cathy (Hank) Slyker of Vermilion, and Barbara (Allen) Felt of Anchorage, Alaska; step son, Frank Schweinberg of Vermilion; 12 grandchildren; 6 sttep grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchild; 3 sisters: Irene Crowley of Clarksburg, WV, Hazel Hedrick of Georgia, and Alma Jean Lucas of Deland, FL; and her brother, the Rev. Howard Carroll of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Francis and Rachel Irene (nee Riffle) Carroll, her first husband Harley Bert Aley, Sr. on June 15, 1990; and her second husband William Frank Schweinberg on October 8, 1992, and her sister Maxine Hedrick. Friends may call Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 3 until the time of the funeral service at 5 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South Street Vermilion, OH 44089, with Reverend Jim Cooper, pastor of Harbourtown Community Church, officiating.
