Helen L. (Walenty) Walentynowicz (nee Adamowicz), 94 of Vermilion, died Friday, April 18, 2008 in Kingston of Vermilion after lengthy illness. She was born December 28, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 20 years, moving from Garfield Heights, Ohio. She worked as a dental assistant for Sagamore Hills Hospital. Helen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She was active with the senior citizens groups in both her church and community. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening. Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Jack) Elden of Vermilion and Sue Krolikowski of Kitty Hawk, NC; 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Billy) Elden-Gaule; John Elden III, Rachel (Bill) Nieberding, Nathan (Kelly) Krolikowski, and Sara Krolikowski; and 2 great grandchildren, Clare Elden-Gaule. and Brody Nieberding. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Walentynowicz in 1965; parents, Walter and Mary Anne (nee Kaczulis) Adamowicz, a brother, Edward Adamowicz; and a sister, Rose Kubinski. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, where there will be a Christian Wake service at 7:00 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11: 30 am followed by an 11:45 am Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
