Helen Wilkowski

Helen Wilkowski, 81 of Lorain, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in Amherst Manor following a lengthy illness. She was born April 14, 1922 in Lorain, Ohio, and lived there all her life. Helen graduated from Lorain High School and Oberlin Business School. Helen worked at the family-owned White Eagle Cafe in Lorain. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain. Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Simmer of Avon Lake, OH, and Olga Polcyn of Florida; nephew, David Simmer of Avon Lake, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Anna Wilkowski, and brothers, Attorney Arthur and Lt. Col. Victor Wilkowski. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Rev. Robert J. Glepko, Pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain, will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
