Helene Akers-Cuenin

Helene (Conn) Akers Cuenin VERMILION - Helene Akers Cuenin (nee Conn), 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 03, 2016, at Elmcroft Senior Living of Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born September 14, 1930, in Dana, Kentucky, moving to Vermilion in1953, then to Norwalk in1996. She enjoyed gardening, working with ceramics, craft projects, and especially cooking for her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Helen Bohl (Allen), of St. Augustine, Florida, Sandra Kay West (Lindy), of Amherst, Ohio, and Sheila Peachock (Ken), of LaGrange, Ohio; six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Banner Conn (Shelby) of Vermilion and sister, Allie Boyd of Dana, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Virgie (nee Howell), husband Hoover Curtis Akers in 1983, second husband, Robert Paul Cuenin in 2013, grandson, Shane Patrick West, two brothers, and five sisters. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 10:00 to the time of the service at 11:30 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
