Henry L. Wikel, 91, formerly of Vermilion died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Florida Hospital Altamonte, Altamonte Springs, Florida. He was born May 27, 1914 in Tomas Edison's niece's house and met Edison as a boy. Henry was a 1932 graduate of Milan High School. He owned and operated Wikel Dairy of Vermilion and was awarded Future Farmer of the Year. He enjoyed flower gardening and yard work, square dancing and traveling in his motor home. He moved to Longwood, FL in 1952 and worked as a real estate broker with Mid Florida Realty Inc. where he was a partner. Henry attended church at the Powers Drive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sara Wikel of Apopka, FL (married 1994); son, Ronald C. (Carol) Wikel of Livingston, TX; daughter, Janet (Gary) Vincent of Wakeman; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Edith M. Kuhl Wikel in 1993; and brothers, John and Edward Wikel. Friends may call Tuesday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m.at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m.. Reverend Larry Nocella, pastor of the Camden Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
