Howard Terrance Davidson

Howard Terrance Davidson, 86, of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home after a brief illness. He was born February 21, 1935 in Fairport Harbor,  OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 47 years moving from Elyria. Howard and his wife, Alice also enjoyed spending winters in Lakeland, FL for 22 years. Howard was a veteran of the US Army and had worked for EandL Transport as a Car Hauler for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion and the Teamsters. He enjoyed bowling on the Saturday night Bowling League at Lake Erie Lanes, woodworking, fishing, camping, traveling, and collecting die cast model classic cars. He is survived by his daughter, Jean (Andrew) Gross of Lorain: son, Terry (Mary) Davidson of Vermilion; 17 grandchildren (including 3 grandsons that served their country in the Armed Forces); and 28 great grandchildren (including one great grandson serving in the US Navy). He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie (nee Jones) Davidson on Dec. 20, 2020; daughter, Joyce Gomez in 2006; parents, John and Matilda (nee Marquette) Davidson; brothers, Carl, Ralph, and John Davidson; and his sisters, Eleanor Liammakki, Helen Perkins, and Phyllis Moody. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Harbourtown Community Church, 873 State Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Pastor Heidi Strickler will officiate. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
