Imogene M. Szafran

Imogene M. Szafran (nee Stashick), 82 of Lorain, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Community Health Partners, Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born December 16, 1926 in Lorain where she has been a life long resident. She worked for First Federal Bank in Lorain and retired in the early 90's after 40 years in the banking business. She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son, Alan Szafran and his companion Shelley Harris of Amherst; daughter, Sandy (Dwight) Shurtleff of Gahanna, OH; grandsons, Ryan and Christopher Szafran, great grandson, Jeremy Hale, and brother Walt Stashick of Lorain. Preceding her in death were her husband Stanley Szafran in 1987; parents, John and Helen (nee Meisner) Stashick; brothers, Frank and Leo Stashick, and sister Frances Sanders. Private services were held at Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
