Jack W. Lehman, 74 of Amherst, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 19, 1934 in Lorain and lived there until moving to Amherst 22 years ago. He graduated from Clearview High School in 1952, where he was captain of his basketball team. He worked at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain for 35 years, retiring in 1995. Jack was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, enjoyed all Cleveland sports teams and enjoyed gardening. His home was in the tour of Lorain County gardens. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (nee Poprocki) of Amherst and a son, Kenneth J. Lehman of Amherst. He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Carl F. and Betty (nee Lester) Lehman. Friends may visit on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 5-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119 or Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
