James E Clutter, Jr. 66, of Vermilion, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness. James was born July 13, 1945 in Clarksburg, WV. He had been a Vermilion resident since 1979. He was a veteran of the United States Marines serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Maintenance Tech at Parker Hannifin, Avon Lake. He had also worked for American Crucible, USS Steel , American Shipyards, and General Electric.in North Carolina. He had been a member of VFW Post # 7576 in Vermilion. He enjoyed working on cars and computers. When he was younger, he raced stock cars and worked at the Sandusky Speedway. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sally J. (nee Wolfe) Clutter of Vermilion; son, Mark Clutter of Vermilion; daughters, Melissa (James) Allen of Pataskala, OH, and Michelle Grahling of Mary Esther, FL; grandchildren, Tabitha Grahling, Jared Allen, and Jasmine and Jesse Clutter; and step mother, Ila Clutter of Clarksburg, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Clutter, Sr. Services are private and are entrusted to the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
