James Patrick Eddy

James Patrick Eddy, 61, formerly of Vermilion, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Larchwood Care, Cleveland after a lengthy illness.

He was born on September 15, 1963, in Lorain, Ohio, and was a longtime resident of Vermilion before relocating to Lorain in 2007 due to health concerns. James was a 1983 graduate of Vermilion High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the North Ridgeville Church of Christ and was known for being a jokester with a great sense of humor and he enjoyed spending time with family.

James is survived by his mother, Nancy Abel; his brother, Michael Eddy; and his sister, Linda Eddy; cousins, Chuckie Abel, Doug Abel, Billy Cupp, and David Abel Jr; uncle, David Abel and his former wife, Kathleen Eddy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Eddy Sr., his brother, Donald Eddy Jr., and aunt, Barb Abel.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 5 - 7 p.m. Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Riddle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion, where military honors will be presented.
