James Douglas Garman

James Douglas Garman, age 50, of Vermilion, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky after a short illness. He was born April 17, 1963 in Cleveland, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 10 years moving from Detroit. While in high school, James worked in the meat department at Heinen's Supermarket, then Sears. He trained at ITT for computer repair and was hired by Cray Research where he maintained computer hardware at the Ohio State University. He later worked for Ford Motor Co. for Cray Research, Detroit. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church. James enjoyed working on cars, fishing, spending time with his sons, and making many articles with wood such as birdhouses, and cabinets. He was able to fix anything. James is survived by his mother, Gloria Jean Garman of Vermilion; sons Brandon Garman of North Olmsted, Justin Garman of Cleveland, and Kyle Garman of Lancaster; brother, David Garman of Detroit, MI; sister, Elizabeth 'Beth" Moore of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Garman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16th from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m at the funeral home.The Reverend Mike Levelle will officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
