James "Jimmy" B. Hunter, 30, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, September 2, 2025, after a sudden illness.
He was born June 25, 1995, in Vermilion, OH to James and Sherry Hunter. As a youth Jimmy lived in LaGrange, KY where he attended school in Oldham County Kentucky. He moved back to Ohio eight years ago.
As a youth, he had enjoyed BMX bike racing with his brother and father. He raced for Derby City, in Louisville, KY, for the Blue Grass Bike Club. He enjoyed driving and working on cars and motorcycles. He loved going to concerts and playing video games.
Jimmy had worked as an apprentice at Interior Systems Local Union 373.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry A. Hunter; paternal grandmother, Barbara R. Hunter of Vermilion; paternal grandfather, Robert (Barbara) Hunter of Jackson, MS; maternal grandmother, Nancy Kucharik of Toledo; uncle Rob (Jennifer) Hunter of Wakeman; aunt, Erica (Gary) Hurst of Avon; cousins, Gary and Jackson, great aunt, Mary Ann Shuman Carroll of Vermilion; and his cousin, Krystal Zarambo of New York.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Hunter in 2011, his brother, Jonathan T. Hunter in 2023, and his maternal grandfather, John Kucharik in 2008.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 3:30 pm until the time of a funeral service at 5:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County, Inc., 8303 Murray Ridge Road., Elyria, OH 44035.
