James R. Traylor, 81, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home in Vermilion. James was born November 27, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri. He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years moving from Kansas. He was a veteran of the Army. He was the shipping and receiving supervisor for Ford Motor, Lorain, and enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He had his private pilots license and spent time with his family. . He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Traylor of Akron; son, David (Samantha) Traylor of Castalia; grandchildren, Emili, Todd, Blake and Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry William and Helen (nee Rice) Traylor; his wife, Elaine Ann, 2008; granddaughter, Tiffani Traylor, and grandson, Nicholas Shaffer, 2013. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. The Reverend Bob Richardson will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors. The family suggests memorial contributions to Woodridge Schools Special Needs Program, 4411 Quick Road, Peninsula, OH 44264.
