James Lee Updegrove Jr., 22, of Lorain, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Lorain as the result of an automobile accident. He was born October 28, 1995 in Oberlin and had been a life long Lorain area resident. James worked for Two Men And A Truck moving company for many years. He enjoyed playing video games (with his slacker Doug) and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Kayla Updegrove of Lorain; daughters, Lyllian and Vyolet Updegrove; sons, Bryan Updegrove and James Lee Updegrove, III; parents, Tabatha (nee Stevens) and Perry Smith; father, James (Lora) Updegrove Sr.; sisters, Tiffany Updegrove, Stormie Stevens, Emily and Brittany Updegrove, and Lois Phillips: brothers, James Allen Updegrove and Brandon Brown; paternal grandparents, Jim and Regina Updegrove; and maternal grandfather, Donald Stevens; and his aunt and uncle, Pauline and Roger Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Brenda Suggs. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
