Janet Mae Boone

Janet Mae Boone (nee Leimbach), 85, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born November 29, 1934 in Birmingham and had been a life long Birmingham area resident. Janet had worked for the Dum Dums Lollipops Company and had also worked at McGavey's Restaurant in Vermilion. She was a member of the Florence Congregational Church and enjoyed puzzles, flower gardening, and she especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Chris Summers of Vermilion; Debbie (Jon) Demuth of Berlin Hts.; and Tillie (Bill Bryant) Carty of Berlin Hts.; grandchildren: Sondra Carty, Janette Summers and Tim,  Josh (Amy) Demuth, and Michelle (Joe) Demuth-Bibb; great grandchildren: Christopher Summers, Zach Carty, Micheal Carty, and Keegan Bibb; great great granddaughter, Natalie Carty; and her brother, Gerald (Margaret) Leimbach of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Edward Boone; parents, Robert and Margaret (nee Horning) Leimbach; brother, Robert Leimbach; sisters, Lavonne Carter and Lois Stone; and her son-in-law, Larry Summers. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
