Janet I. Momit (nee Covert), 74, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was born October 27, 1939 in Morristown, NY, and had been a Lorain area resident for the past 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion, Lorain American Legion Post# 30, and the Lorain Moose Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, spending time with grandchildren, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. She is survived by her daughters, Annette (Matt) Myers of Vermilion and Gina (Bob) Long (Wilson) of Lorain; sons, Michael "Mickey" (Donna) Tursivio of Lorain and Raymond Wilson of Alton, NH; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Hershberger of Elyria; and step sisters, Gwen, Faith and Judy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Momit Jr. in 2012; son, Arthur H. Wilson, parents, Carl and Ruth (nee Twitty) Covert and brother, Michael Covent. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion.
