Jayne E. Martin, 86, formerly of Vermilion died Monday, April 26, 2004 in Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland. She was born November 2, 1917 in Elyria, Ohio. She lived in Vermilion, Ohio all of her married life and lived at the home of her daughter in Rockville, MD the last 11 years. She attended the Columbus School of Art and Design and the Flower Design School in Cleveland. She had worked at Ted Jacobs, Lorain and Ginger's Flower Shop in Vermilion. She had been a self employed artist and painted lake and lighthouse scenes. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. She enjoyed travel, nature walks, beaches, seagulls and covered bridges. Survivors include her daughters, Gayle Scott of Rockville, MD, Jill Young of N. Canton, and Marcia Martin of Vermilion; 3 grandchildren, Josie Lane, Jenny Young and Josh Young; 2 Great Grandchildren, Adam Woodall and Alexandria Woodall. Preceding her in death were her parents, Albert H. and Elizabeth (nee Homegardner) Krapp; her husband, Glen P. Martin; brother, Lewis Krapp and sister, Margaret A. Krapp. Friends may call 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Cemetery, Huron. Father Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will officiate.
