Jean Bay

Jean H. Bay (nee Richards), 91, of Lorain, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born April 18, 1927 in Comins, MI and had been a Lorain resident for the past 74 years. Jean had worked as the store manager for Lawson's in Lorain and also did cleaning in a nursing home when she lived in Florida. She was a member of the St. Peter Parish, Lorain, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, oil painting, and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Robert) Wawszkiewicz of Lorain; sons, John (Margie) Bay of Columbus, Robert Bay of Lorain, and William (Eugenia) Bay of Lorain; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Bay in 2000; parents, William and Ethel (nee Hand) Richards; grandson, Nicholas Bay; brothers, Edward and Bob Richards and her sisters, Vivian Edie and June Richards. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion ,OH 44089. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053. Father Craig Hovanec will officiate.
