Jean H. Bay (nee Richards), 91, of Lorain, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born April 18, 1927 in Comins, MI and had been a Lorain resident for the past 74 years. Jean had worked as the store manager for Lawson's in Lorain and also did cleaning in a nursing home when she lived in Florida. She was a member of the St. Peter Parish, Lorain, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, oil painting, and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Robert) Wawszkiewicz of Lorain; sons, John (Margie) Bay of Columbus, Robert Bay of Lorain, and William (Eugenia) Bay of Lorain; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Bay in 2000; parents, William and Ethel (nee Hand) Richards; grandson, Nicholas Bay; brothers, Edward and Bob Richards and her sisters, Vivian Edie and June Richards. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion ,OH 44089. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053. Father Craig Hovanec will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society Ohio Division Inc., 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106 .
