Jean Marie Brown

Jean Marie Brown (nee Zych), 76, of Vermilion, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland after a sudden illness. Jean was born September 21, 1936 in Lorain and had been a Lorain County resident her whole life. She was a 1956 graduate of Lorain High School. Jean was a former member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon. In earlier years she was active in the Parent Teachers Union, and the Avon Junior Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening, and was an excellent cook and baker. She was also a dog lover. Jean is survived by her husband John whom she married July 7, 1956; daughter Dr. Kyle Brown, son-in-law Hasan Hicsasmaz, and granddaughter Innes Hicsasmaz all of Iowa City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mary (Stalinski) Zych, and brother Kenneth Zych. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St., Vermilion, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
