Jean F. Calamia (Verdone), 84 of Vermilion , died Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Community Health Partners West. after a lengthy illness. She was born July 9, 1924 in Queens, New York and lived 35 years in Vermilion. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion. She enjoyed knitting, reading, hiking in the Adirondacks and sailing near Long Island.. Survivors include son, Jerry (Dee) Calamia of Vermilion; 1 grandchild, Katelyn; sisters, Francis and Marion and brothers, George and Joseph. Preceding her in death were her husband, Thomas L.
